Very pleasant and relzxing with friendly attentive staff - would definitely recommend this place - THANKS!

"We had an excellent time at Loch Insh last weekend, even though there was too much snow and we couldnt get to the Cairngorms. The lodge was lovely, we could not fault it at all. The beds were comfy, kitchen was excellent, I had no problems using the cooker for meals. The dishwasher saved us a lot of time too. Most importantly the showers were warm!! We will definately be booking again next year. Hopefully we will get some skiing done."

'Our stay in Dalwhinnie chalet was delightful. Your facilities and hospitality were first class as usual- you even arranged for the best weather we could ask for! I was so pleased for the wedding party you had there. Many thanks to Sally Freshwater who even lent us tea bags on Sunday morning! I hope you all have a good winter and look forward to seeing you again next April, many thanks.

Just a brief email to thank you and all staff for a thoroughly enjoyable weekend stay. My husband and I had a wonderful time and Lynda, Emma, their husbands and children had an absolute ball too. We are already planning another stay next Autumn! The chalets were wonderful, we made good use of the watersports on the Saturday morning and the children loved sledging in the afternoon. It goes without saying that the wonderful weather ondoubtedly helped! Thank you so much. Val, Erskine 13 October 2010

Lovely view from our chalet wish we could have stayed longer enjoyed the squirrel and birds feeding outside window - peaceful, relaxing break thank you

Chalets at Loch Insh

The ultimate place to stay for a romantic, relaxing or invigorating break

Superb log chalets overlooking scenic Loch Insh where you can watch the waves crash in, or tranquil sunsets, over our privately owned beach.  Set amidst the Cairngorm Mountain range at the base of Glen Feshie, the chalets lie in 14 acres of woodlands looking across 700 acre Loch Insh with its two islands, towards the Monadhlaith mountains to the North and West.  To the Southwest the site is bordered by the RSPB Insh Marshes national nature reserve, the second largest of its kind in Europe, and a haven for plants and wildlife.

This is the ultimate place to stay for a romantic, relaxing or invigorating break whether you are on your own with the family or are having a get-together. Our log cabins offer a unique stop on your itinerary or a great base from which to explore further.

These secluded log cabins are away from the hustle and bustle of every day life yet less than 10 mins drive to bus and train stations and the facilities of the villages on either side of us, Kingussie and Aviemore.

You will feel like you are on your own yet have plenty of facilities on site should you need them, Including our own family run Gift Shop and Restaurant that are open all year from where you can purchase all the essentials or those things you might have forgotten. There is also a small family run store in the village of Kincraig a short away (less than 1 mile.)

What views!, No matter what you like doing this is a good place to do it from. Bird watching, Star gazing outdoor pursuits, what a base to explore the Highlands.

High open ceilings with open plan Kitchen/Living/Dining areas. The bright modern kitchens are fully equipped with hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and all nessesary cooking equipment. Open verandas to enjoy the lochside views. BBQ's and garden chairs provided along with linen and towels.

Many of them overlook the loch, others look on to mixed woods of birch, beech and pine which make up the remainder of the site.

Summer visitors can enjoy the long evenings outside with each chalets own barbeque and deck chairs. A great place to unwind after an active day in the Cairngorm National Park.

Car parking is never more than 25 metres away from your door.

The play parks,  volleyball and basket ball courts are also available for you to use. Other facilities that are provided for you on site are a drying room in the main lodge with use of washing and drying machines which are coin operated. A must if you are into the outdoors.

The chalets closest to the beach have been specially adapted for disabled access, and graded accordingly. Please see their individual listings.

Glenfarclas, Glenlivet and the two apartments Loch View and The Penthouse have wood burning stoves, obviously more popular when the snow is here!

There is underfloor heating through the kitchen, Porch and toilet areas in our newer chalets which are

Glentromie, Macallan,Tamdhu,Glenlivet,Knockando,Drumguish and Glenfarclas.
