Managing director, Clive has spent a life time coaching in sport. He started life as a professional footballer, then moved from that to do a teaching degree in Physical Education. After two years teaching he moved to work as an instructor at Glenmore Lodge where he met his wife Sally and they thought up the idea of doing the same thing for themselves. Clive has done every job at Loch Insh and now overseas the whole set up but is trying to retire!
Joint director with Clive and Andrew, Sally was involved in every aspect of the business at the start. She continues to oversee the management of the business and helps when necessary wherever needed but prefers to spend her time in the garden and grounds of Loch Insh keeping the place tidy with our resident gardener. She also closely monitors staffing and standards of housekeeping and the restaurant. Like Clive, Sally is now taking a back seat in the day to day management.
Jonny's main love is Windsurfing and he does it come rain or shine, in fact the rainier and windier the better. Jonny has done winters in many top windsurfing destinations working for club vass for over ten years in Greece and Egypt as well as holidays to Margarita and Brazil. Quiz him on where to go next after learning the basics with us at Loch Insh. Jonny has now returned full-time as a summer and winter instructor. He is our chief instructor on the beach and will oversee activities alongside. With a vast experience in coaching all the activities he will guide new instructors in the way we like things done. Jonny also heads up our snowboarding side of things when needed. Three years ago he started the 'Loch Insh Monsters' under the Team 15 initiative of the RYA, together with and Jacs they coach the current team who are Scottish Champions for the fourth year running and were 3rd at the nationals last year. they hope to do better in 2010. With jonny coaching them they have every chance.

Ian looks after the Bosun's Locker shop. He has been with us now for 2 years and is the person to check availability of items for sale.
Tim is our head chef. He has had a life time of experience delivering everything on service from sandwiches and cakes to full wedding menus for up to 200 people. He is responsible for the daily running of the restaurant from the kitchen side of things in conjunction with the overseer at the front of house. Tim chooses the menu, prices it and does all ordering and oversees the delivery of our various food options. Tim has a personal licence to run the bar and deals with all our HASAP checks
Martin is our senior maintenance manager he runs his own Guest house in Kingussie Allt Gynack Guest House with his wife Jen and in his spare time he will turn his hand to anything at Loch Insh. He does three days a week and will change a light bulb, clear the snow or cut the grass and everything else in between. He is a great asset to the business especially on changeover days and weekends when these little jobs need doing. He also has been trained to skipper the tour boat and loves to do this because of his love for wildlife spotting!
Howard fills in the days when Martin is not in on general maintenance covering the same jobs. Howard started life at Loch Insh as an instructor over 10 years ago but moved on to work with the Hilton group. He is senior maintenance manager at their hotel in Aviemore but lives in Kincraig. However he has always had a love of sailing windsurfing and skiing and snowboarding which he hasn’t managed to get out of his system from his time working for the big holiday companies in the Med. He still teaches for us too if we are busy on the beach. He will cover Jonny and Andy on the beach post if needed as the chief instructor for the day.
Jacs has been with us for a year now and has been a fantastic help to the management of the centre. Jacs does the staff training for the restaurant and bar as well as staffing on the beach, taking bookings and throws in the odd intermidiate windsurfing lesson when the winds good, just recently passed her power boat instructor course and will be running power boat courses throughout the summer.
From one of our youngest staff to one of our most experienced! Dave has been working in this industry his whole life. Dave was in charge of Loch Morlich Watersports in the 70’s and 80’s and now is our dinghy senior instructor for 2010. He takes care of the Sailing program most days through the summer allocates which groups are going to use what and defines sailing areas for the instructors.
Charlie works part time for us as he is a fully retained Fire fighter in Inverness. He has a love of sailing and teaches this during the summer. He used to race Lasers amongst other boats and helps as our Bosun through the year keeping the fleet up to date and well maintained. He also races Siberian huskyies with his wife and there team is ranked in the top 5 in Britain for there 4 dog team. Although his wife seems to go faster than him especially on the uphill sections!
Neil has a military background and brings this to Loch Insh and in particular he helps us to keep the young instructors in check. He loves guiding groups on the loch and river in open canoes. He also drives the tour boat and leads our nature walks due to his love of the outdoors and the wildlife within it.
